Changelog

What changed.

What has shipped on the bench, newest first.

8 September 2026

Publish to YouTube, and your reach numbers

  • Connect your YouTube channel once on the account page, then Publish any result straight to a video
  • Two screens, never one: pick the video, see its current thumbnail next to the new one, tick the box, then it changes
  • The account page lists each published cover with its impressions and click-through since publish, next to your channel’s own 28-day baseline
  • Numbers come from YouTube’s own reports with about a two-day lag. The bench never estimates them
  • Early access while Google reviews the app, so not every account can connect yet. One channel per account
  • Free, no credits. Free plans publish with the corner mark

Keep, search and delete in History

  • Star any result with Keep, then filter History to All or Kept
  • Search across the words on the cover and the brief behind it
  • Delete a result. You are asked twice, and its edited versions go with it
  • A connected channel now joins the Channel picker on its own

Channel memory, and a second image model

  • Add a channel by @handle or link. The bench reads its latest public covers and learns the look: colours, text, framing, mood. No YouTube account needed
  • Pick it in Create or Plan. “No channel” is the default and applies nothing. Memory is per channel, never per person
  • GPT Image 2 as a second image model, picked with a button next to Nano Banana 2, for the same credit. Edits, tweaks and expressions stay on the default
  • Every result now names the model that made it
  • Channel memory is free, no credits

Words as a layer you can edit

  • A checkbox next to the words: “as a layer I can edit”. Off by default, so nothing changes unless you ask
  • The model leaves a clean, low-detail zone and paints no text. The bench draws your headline on top in a real font
  • So the words are never misspelled, they open editable in the Editor, and exports redraw them crisp
  • Long headlines wrap onto two balanced lines and size themselves to the longest one

Your images, as references and as layers

  • Add up to three of your own pictures to a render
  • “Copy the look of a cover” takes the layout and colour of a reference thumbnail, never the face on it
  • “Put a thing in the picture” reproduces a screenshot, logo or product as shown
  • Any of them can also be dropped into the Editor as an image layer. See-through PNGs stay see-through

Review: a director’s notes on every result

  • A verdict, up to two things worth keeping, and up to four faults that would cost you the click
  • Every fault comes with a one-click Fix it, which runs a Tweak: two options, two credits
  • A phone-size verdict, a squint-test toggle, a likeness check against your selfie when a face was used, and a warning when the words repeat the video title
  • It is feedback in words. It gives no score, no percentage and no click prediction, because nobody can make one honestly
  • Free, no credits. It replaces the old Rate button

Plan: five thumbnail ideas, and Explain a cover

  • Type the video idea, paste a YouTube link, paste a script, or upload a video or audio file to be transcribed
  • Five concepts come back, each with a name, the viewer psychology, the emotion, a paired video title, the words for the cover, the scene and a style
  • “Send to Create” fills the maker in. Optional throughout: a blank brief still renders exactly as before
  • Explain a cover, on the same page: paste any video link and get why its thumbnail works, what not to copy, and a strategy you can reuse. It explains, it does not recreate
  • Both are free, no credits
